The officers can be reached through the Police Department’s non-emergency number, 856-589-0911. Keep in mind that the average appointment time is 30-45 minutes for a proper installation and demonstration. The goal is to teach you how to properly install seats for future reference, not just to install the seat for you.
Anyone, township resident or not, who has a question or requests assistance on the proper installation of a child safety seat will be helped.
Free Monthly Car Seat Inspections
Our certified child safety seat technicians are dedicated to keeping our youngest residents safe through proper car seat installation and education. Our officers serve the community 24/7 with professionalism, respect, integrity, dedication, and education, providing this free service to anyone who needs assistance with child safety seats.
The Mantua Township Police Department hosts a courtesy checkpoint on the 2nd Saturday of each month at the Mantua Firehouse (District 1), 155 East Union Avenue, Sewell, from 10 am-2 pm. This free service is available to anyone, whether you’re a township resident or not.
Other locations may be utilized depending on the weather or special events. The Mantua Fire Department has graciously offered their facility to allow for families to wait in their large meeting room until their vehicle can be pulled into a bay and the installation/training completed.
