Local Schools
Mantua Township School District is a pre-K through grade 6 district located in the heart of Gloucester County, serving students across three schools: Sewell School (pre-K and kindergarten), Centre City School (grades 1-3), and J. Mason Tomlin School (grades 4-6). The district is known for active parent involvement, integrated 21st century technology, and a dedicated staff, with students in grades 7-12 continuing their education at Clearview Regional Schools.
Clearview Regional High School District is a regional public school district serving students in grades 7-12 from Harrison Township and Mantua Township. The district includes Clearview Regional Middle School (grades 7-8) and Clearview Regional High School (grades 9-12). Students from Mantua Township previously attended Pitman High School before Clearview Regional High School opened in 1960.
Specialized Schools
Gloucester County Institute of Technology (GCIT) is a four-year vocational-technical public high school located in Deptford Township, established in 1971, offering eighteen full-time career and technical education programs. Students must apply and be selected to attend GCIT based on 7th and 8th grade performance, state test scores, attendance, and a mandatory shadow visit, with approximately 400 students accepted per year. GCIT prepares students to compete in both higher educational and workforce environments, providing knowledge, experience, and skills necessary for meaningful career choices and workplace productivity.
Now known as the Schools for Neurodiversity at Gloucester County Special Services School District (GCSSSD), the district’s mission is to enable students with special needs to become lifelong learners, positive contributors to the community, problem solvers, productive workers, and ethical decision makers while achieving academic standards. The district offers customized programming and a wide range of opportunities including specialized educational and therapeutic services, with facilities located near Rowan College of South Jersey that enhance opportunities for students.
Local Colleges and Universities
Rowan College of South Jersey (RCSJ) was formed in July 2019 by joining Rowan College at Gloucester County (formerly Gloucester County College) with Cumberland County College, with campuses in Gloucester County and Cumberland County. RCSJ offers innovative programs like Rowan Choice, which gives students the opportunity to live on Rowan University’s campus, and 3+1, which allows students to take three years of coursework at RCSJ before seamlessly transferring to Rowan University for their fourth year. As the premier partner of the region’s most highly-acclaimed research university, RCSJ’s programs are designed for transfer toward a Rowan University bachelor’s degree.
Rowan University is a public research university in Glassboro, New Jersey, founded in 1923 as Glassboro Normal School, with a total enrollment of over 19,600 students across 14 colleges and schools. The university offers bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral, and professional degree programs and is classified among “R2: Doctoral Universities – High research activity”. Rowan has earned national recognition for innovation, commitment to high-quality, affordable education, and is the nation’s third fastest-growing public doctoral research university, offering programs through its campuses in Glassboro, Camden, and Stratford.
