Regular trash collection

Regular Trash Collection Schedule

  • Place your trash cart at the curb between 6:00 PM the evening before and 6:00 AM on collection day; remove by 7:00 PM.
  • If your collection day falls on a holiday, refer to the Township Calendar and website for changes.
  • Collection Procedures: Ordinance No. 44-7

Guidelines:

  • Only Township-issued carts will be collected.
  • All trash must be bagged before being placed inside the cart.
  • Weight Limit: Carts must weigh less than 50 pounds.

❌ Regular Items You CANNOT Dispose:

  • Concrete or broken cement (including pole bases)
  • Tires (Please refer to the Mantua Township calendar for specific tire collection dates.)
  • Roofing shingles or materials
  • Oil-based paints or paint cans
  • Spray cans or other chemicals
  • Any waste from contractors must be removed by the contractor. It will not be collected by Public Works.

Bulk Trash Collection

Bulk Trash Collection Schedule

  • Bulk collection occurs during the first full week of each month (consisting of Monday – Friday). Please do not place bulk items at the curb outside of this designated week.
  • Please refer to the Mantua Township calendar for specific bulk pick up dates.
  • Can’t wait for pickup? Drop off bulk items at the Convenience Center on the 4th Saturday of each month (see details below).

Mantua Township Convenience Center

Can’t wait for bulk pickup? Mantua Township offers a Convenience Center for residents to drop off eligible bulk items:

  • Location:
    • Public Works Garage, 407 Main Street (behind the Police Station)
  • Hours:
    • 4th Saturday of each month from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm
    • Every Saturday from Memorial Day through Labor Day from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm

Note: Only Mantua Township residents may use the drop-off center. Photo ID or proof of residency is required.

Guidelines:

  • The purpose of bulk pickup is for large household items that do not fit into your regular Township-issued trash cart.

✅ Bulk Items You CAN Dispose:

  • Beds and mattresses
  • Sofas and upholstered furniture
  • General household furniture
  • Electronics (TVs, computers, DVD/CD players)
  • Carpeting – must be cut into manageable sections, then rolled and tied or taped
  • Bagged items
  • White goods – refrigerators, washers, dryers, stoves, and light iron
    • Remove doors from appliances before placing them at the curb
    • When possible, ask delivery companies to remove your old appliances

❌ Bulk Items You CANNOT Dispose:

  • Hazardous waste
  • Wood fencing
  • Bricks or concrete
  • Construction and demolition debris (including remodeling or storm damage materials)
