Recycling Guidelines
Place all commingled and paper recyclables in the blue recycling cart provided by the Township.
Note: Plastic bags are not permitted in the blue recycling cart. Failure to comply will result in your recycling cart not being collected.
Preparation:
- Rinse all aluminum, plastic, and tin cans, as well as glass bottles and jars.
- Remove all caps and lids before recycling.
- Flatten cardboard and cut into smaller pieces before placing next to the cart on the curb. Cardboard will be picked up every week on your trash day.
✅ Items You CAN Recycle:
- Newspapers and paper
- Magazines and junk mail
- Phone books
- Plastic bottles
- Glass bottles and jars
- Aluminum and tin cans
- Flattened cardboard (place at curb side next to your recycling cart)
❌ Items You CANNOT Recycle:
- Plastic bags
- Used oil containers
- Styrofoam
- Trash or garbage
- Food-soiled paper or cardboard
- Propane tanks or bottles
- Electronics
- Ceramics, porcelain, or cookware
- Coat hangers
- Clothing or fabric
- Rigid plastics (e.g., toys)
- Tires or rims (Please refer to Mantua Township calendar for specific pick up dates.)
- Appliances
- Batteries
