Recycling Guidelines

Place all commingled and paper recyclables in the blue recycling cart provided by the Township.

Note: Plastic bags are not permitted in the blue recycling cart. Failure to comply will result in your recycling cart not being collected.

Preparation:

  • Rinse all aluminum, plastic, and tin cans, as well as glass bottles and jars.
  • Remove all caps and lids before recycling.
  • Flatten cardboard and cut into smaller pieces before placing next to the cart on the curb. Cardboard will be picked up every week on your trash day.

✅ Items You CAN Recycle:

  • Newspapers and paper
  • Magazines and junk mail
  • Phone books
  • Plastic bottles
  • Glass bottles and jars
  • Aluminum and tin cans
  • Flattened cardboard (place at curb side next to your recycling cart)

❌ Items You CANNOT Recycle:

  • Plastic bags
  • Used oil containers
  • Styrofoam
  • Trash or garbage
  • Food-soiled paper or cardboard
  • Propane tanks or bottles
  • Electronics
  • Ceramics, porcelain, or cookware
  • Coat hangers
  • Clothing or fabric
  • Rigid plastics (e.g., toys)
  • Tires or rims (Please refer to Mantua Township calendar for specific pick up dates.) 
  • Appliances
  • Batteries
