Meet Your NEW Police Officers
At Monday’s Committee meeting, the Mantua Township Committee appointed the hiring of Patrolmen Thomas Cirone and Patrolmen Gregory Sweeney, Jr.!
Below, we have provided short biographies for our newly appointed officers.

Ptl. Thomas Cirone
“Thomas Cirone has been with us part time since June of 2021. Prior to Mantua, he worked in Woodbury as a Class 1 officer.
He grew up in West Deptford and subsequently attended Rowan College of South Jersey. Mantua PD sent him through the class 2 police academy, and he has proven himself to be a good employee with excellent peer relationships.
Several of his past references has stated that he is a very moral person, hard-working, competitive person with good manners. The Mantua PD is looking forward to having Thomas on as a full-time employee and seeing him to continue to develop as a Mantua Officer.”

Ptl. Gregory Sweeney, Jr.
“Gregory Sweeney, Jr. resided here in Mantua Township from 2014 to 2019 and attended Clearview High School. Both his father and stepfather are recently retired officers from this department. He is the father of two daughters.
His past employers have described him as a hard worker, one who never calls out sick, a great person, mild mannered, and a great family man. Gregory started his full-time law enforcement career in the Camden County Police Department before coming to Mantua. Mantua PD is looking forward to Gregory following in the footsteps of his family and seeing what he can do in Mantua Township.”
The Township of Mantua is beyond excited to support these two officers in their growing careers!
