Explorer Program
The Mantua Township Police Explorer Program has been connecting young people with law enforcement careers since 1991. This hands-on program provides students ages 14-20 with valuable insight into police work through instruction, observation, and real-world participation.
We’re always looking for new members who are trustworthy and of good moral character.

Program Details
Instruction covers police procedures, law, traffic control, and related subjects. Throughout the year, guest speakers from agencies like the FBI, Fish & Game, and State Police explain the diverse career paths available in law enforcement. Members also tour law enforcement agencies to see different aspects of the profession firsthand.
As members progress, they assist with traffic control at parades and community events throughout Gloucester County. After completing their first full year with 75% attendance, members age 16 and older become eligible for ride-alongs with patrol officers.
Several of our Explorers have successfully advanced into law enforcement careers as a result of the program.
